2023 Independence Day Awardees for Saint Lucia

For the 44th anniversary of Independence Day, the Government of Saint Lucia celebrated by distributing awards among the people of the island. They found this day to be the perfect opportunity to recognize local excellence. 

As Chancellor of the National Societies of Honour, the Acting Governor-General was the one honored to distribute the awards to the islanders of Saint Lucia. The distribution of awards falls under the National Honours and Awards Act. 

Awards Distributed to the Saint Lucians 

His Excellency was pleased to honor the Saint Lucians with the following awards. 

Saint Lucia Cross 

• Dr. Velon Leo John was given this award for his exemplary service in Law, developing Community, and Government. 
• For this award, Nick Troubetzkoy received it for his dedication to the field of Tourism and Community Development. 
• Professor Dabor Resiere (Honorary) was given the award for his outstanding service in the field of Medical Services and Philanthropy. 

Saint Lucia Gold Medal of Honour 

• For his dedication to Government and Foreign Service, Vitus Terance Evans was awarded the medal of honor. 
• The award in the field of Art (Sculpture and Literature) was awarded to Jallim Eugenius Eudovique. 
• Matthew Anthony CotterBeaubrun was chosen for this award thanks to his service given in the field of tourism and community development. 

Saint Lucia Silver Medal of Honour 

• Cuthbert Modeste was rendered the award for the field of Sports (Coach) for his fantastic service to this field. 
• Arnold Alfred Nathan Emmanuel was given the award for Sports Administration thanks to his dedication to the field. 
• Theodore Henry Bailey Was awarded the Saint Lucia Medal of Honour for the field of Sports Coach. 

Saint Lucia Gold Medal of Merit 

• For serving as a great music teacher Ricky Joseph was awarded the Saint Lucia Medal of Merit Gold. 

• Thanks to their outstanding service in the field of arts and culture, Augustin Duplessis was awarded. 

Saint Lucia Silver Medal of Merit 

• For serving in the field of Arts (Broadcasting), Jerry Emmanuel Mark George was awarded the silver medal of merit. 
• Felix Murray Brown has spent a long time serving in the field of education, so he was awarded the Saint Lucia Medal of Merit Silver. 
• Long Paul Valentine Clery was given this award for his excellent service in the field of martial arts.

There are several additional awards that were appointed to individuals in Saint Lucia. Those awards included the following: 

• Saint Lucia's Les Piton Medals in Gold, Silver, and Bronze. 
• The Saint Lucia National Service Cross
